When shopping for the perfect pillow customers sometimes forget to consider the size. Here is a quick look into all the different pillow sizes and what to keep in mind when picking your perfect pillow.

Standard size pillows are 20x26. The standard pillow size works best on twin size beds up to king size beds. The standard size pillow is the most commonly used size for sleeping. Standard size pillows typically hold their shape the best and don’t sink down as far in the middle.

Jumbo size pillows are 20x28. Jumbo pillows were commonly called “super standard” for many years. Jumbo size pillows work best on twin size beds up to king size beds. This pillow is only slightly longer than a standard size. The Jumbo size is very common in hotels. Jumbo size pillows hold their shape while sleeping on them.

Queen size pillows are 20x30. Queen size is another very popular size. You can use queen size pillows for decorative shams or to sleep with. Queen size pillows work best on queen and king size beds. Queen size pillows may dip a little more in the middle than smaller size pillows, especially down and feather filled queen size pillows. To add more support to your larger pillows, use pillow protectors.

King size pillows are 20x36. King size pillows work best on king size beds. They are perfect for decorative pillow shams. King size pillows can be used to sleep on however, they don’t typically hold their shape as well as smaller sized pillows. To add more support to your larger pillows, use pillow protectors. I recommend sleeping on a queen size pillow or smaller even if you have a king size bed.
